EXERCISES OF THE
HAND AND TOOL
Prior to stepping into architecture school, I did not even know how to operate a drill. During my first semester of school I was rather unceremoniously told "your craft is crap." Determined to acquire this quality of "craft" I dedicated myself to learning how to make things and make things well. I learned digital fabrication techniques at the same time as I learned analog techniques of making. As such my work is often a negotiation of digital and analog processes where both are considered crafted. Within time, craft ceased to be a quality but a process of making.
